The Dog Hikers
"Our dog has been hiking with k9 Outdoor Adventure for a bunch of months (less than a year, but not
by much).  He absolutely loves getting picked up and is usually out the door when they arrive.  He
never looks back to see if I am coming too.  He had some dog-dog aggression when they first started
hiking him, so he was handled solo, but still went on the group hikes.  He quickly graduated to being
able to be handled with 2 other dogs by 1 hiker.  The hikers know our dog very well and his unique
behaviors, which I really appreciate.  We also get great notes left about his hike each week.  In fact,
we like this service so much that we have him hiked 2x a week now.  They always wipe the dogs down
and check them for ticks before returning them home.  When it's raining they dry the dogs off
thoroughly as well.
Even if you have to wait for a spot to open up for your dog, it's worth the wait!  We have met several
of the hikers and they are all very friendly and very knowledgeable.  The convenience, personal
attention and of course socialization and exercise for your dog can't be beat!"

"This is an excellent service for active dogs. The company offers different types of hikes in county
parks and reserves around the South Bay. I highly recommend this service to anyone who would like
his dog to be well exercised and challenged mentally. Thumbs up!"

"Our dog has been going on hikes with Nathalie for over a year now and we've seen her business
expand and thrive.  Even though she has expanded her clients she still cares for every dog.  She has
a variety of services.  Our dog gets picked up once a week and goes on an hour and a half hike up in
Fremont Alder park and then spends the rest of the afternoon lounging around her property with a
bunch of other dogs.
Our dog really loves the hikes and I think he looks forward to his hike day.  We can tell that he has a
good time there, because that night he comes home and just passes out."

"I found K9 Outdoor Adventure through a web search and have been using their service for 3 weeks.
I'm thrilled!!! They offer a much better alternative for my active dog than brief in-home visits that offer
limited time and activity and their fees are in the same range.

K9 Adventures offers a hiking service. Once a week they pick up my dog from my house and take him
on a 1-2 hour hike on trails at various locations in the south bay. Each hiker takes a maximum of 3
dogs so my dog gets plenty of attention and is also playing with other dogs. When I get home, he is
happy and tired and there is a report card waiting for me on the counter.

The staff is very professional and pre-screens dogs via health and shot records, as well as in person,
to ensure that the dogs all have good temperament. They use a fairly comprehensive written
agreement so I know what to expect and they also have extra services available. Since they do
enforce a 3:1 ratio of hikers to dogs, they do require an ongoing weekly commitment to your dog's
spot. When I signed up I had to wait for a new group to be formed in my area but it took the owner
less than 2 weeks to accommodate me.

This service is exactly what I needed to break up my work week for my energetic dog ! He loves it. I
can afford it, and it couldn't be any more convenient."

"I was introduced to Nathalie when I dog sat for a friend of mine. He uses her services and I was
impressed with how friendly, knowledgeable and professional she was on both picking up and
dropping off Barley. I later joined the hiking club and have met more of the staff. They are all
wonderful and really understand dogs. I decided to hire her to hike my dog, Jimmy. I could not be
happier with her service and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a safe, fun
alternative to indoor doggie day care. Jimmy comes home not only tired, but thoroughly content."

answering my stupid questions and giving me priceless knowledge about my dog's behavior and why the dog does some of
the things she does.  I went away for the weekend and with very short notice they could accommodate extra walks no
problem.  As already said there is a required weekly commitment and every walk/hike is recorded back to me both with a
little note and an email with pictures.  I opted to start the dog on a few urban walks (& yes they come and pick up/drop off
=genius!) but being a hiker myself, am so glad that going forward the dog will be out on trials (yeah NOT sidewalks!) with
her dog friends once a week here on out.  It's a win win and I look forward to joining the dog hikers through their hiking club,
which I couldn't find anyone else doing in the south bay.
